Feminist Amy Sousa got kicked out of a woman's sports bar for wearing a shirt supporting women's sports, and AI is going to kill us all in 10 years apparently. It’s viral, it’s absurd; this is the Lesbian Take on it.

So get this, a radical feminist and an elder lesbian, they walk into a bar. They just want to watch women's sports on TV, have some drinks and eat some food. The bar they go to is called the Sports Bra. It's located in Portland, Oregon. On its website, it states that the Sports Bra's mission is to make great food and delicious drinks and to create a space that supports, empowers, and promotes girls and women's sports in the community. So you think they would be welcoming of a feminist activist who has been spearheading a movement to protect women's sports, a category that the bar lays its claim to fame. The sports bra says it is inclusive. But what does inclusion mean? Let's look it up. Merriam Webster defines inclusion as the act or practice of including and accommodating people who have historically been excluded. So for the record, all women historically have been excluded. But let's also keep in mind that an elder lesbian came in with the feminists. So both the feminists and the lesbian were wearing XXXY athletic t-shirts. The brand, if you don't know, it has become synonymous with the WNBA drama. If you don't know what that's about, I do have a podcast episode about it. Go check it out. But that drama essentially headlines Sophie Cunningham, who literally said what 80% of the general public agree with that sports need to be segregated. At the end of the day, it's common sense. It was a very neutral statement she made, but it was twisted and turned into something that Sophie never said. Right? Like acknowledging the basic fact that biology matters in sports. It's not phobic of anything. It is literally just reality. And the backlash that poor Sophie is facing is absolutely ridiculous. But it also led to many women rallying in support of Sophie. And one of these rallying women is the feminist who walked into the sports bra. Her name is Amy D'Souza. Now Amy was turned away from a women's soccer game earlier that day for being pro-woman sports. And now Amy is going to be asked to leave the sports bra. Why? Because Amy supports women's sports. Now, this isn't a joke. This is what actually happened. Both Amy and the elder lesbian were asked to leave the bar that apparently supports women's sports. And the reason they are being asked to leave is because the two women support women's sports. Like there is no making this make sense. None of it makes sense. Like, my god. The jokes just write themselves at this point. Now, I care a lot about women's sports and this issue because what we are seeing in women's sports is an attempt to abolish sex as a protected category. And I, as a lesbian, my sexuality and the protections I have as a lesbian are based on sex. I am exclusively attracted to my own sex. And lesbian spaces cannot exist without sex-based protections. So I'm not in support of these attempts to eliminate sex as a protected class. So yeah, on today's episode, I just thought I could walk through some headlines and give you a lesbian's take on it. But backtracking to Amy Sousa in that drama, she still hasn't received her refund from the sports bra. And I I also want to give my thoughts on it. At the end of the day, if you have a problem with someone's politics, that's your prerogative. But we live in a very divided world. Like literally half of the population is conservative, half of the population is like liberal or uh progressive or d democratic, you could say, like a democrat. Not everybody is going to agree with you. And it's absolutely unrealistic to expect everyone to share your beliefs. The bar management, in my opinion, when they received the complaint about the shirts, they should have told the complainants that their bar is inclusive because that's what's on their website. And part of being inclusive is recognizing that diversity also comes in the form of differing political or religious beliefs. In other words, I think they were so in the wrong for telling Amy to get out. And once again, 80% of the general public agree with Amy. This shouldn't be controversial. And restaurant margins are so thin. I wonder how many potential patrons the sports bra has turned off by drawing a line in the sand on this issue. You know, literally turning a woman out and an elderly lesbian out of their establishment. I don't think it's a good look. I don't think it's a good look for them. And I know for me, I usually would be really interested in visiting a bar that is showing women's sports on the TV. That's not something that I've heard of before. That sounds like a really awesome place to go. Clearly, they don't support women, so I wouldn't be a patron of that bar. Now let's go to the next topic. So apparently AI is gonna kill us all. For the record, I refuse to call Twitter X. It will always be Twitter to me. But anyhow, Jacob Coxson, and I hope I said his name right, he set a Twitter storm when he went on a rant about a 10% chance of AI wiping out humanity in 10 years. For background, Jacob worked for Anthropic, and this is the company that created Claude AI, and it is the model that is touted as being more ethical than ChatGPT. Anyhow, Jacob wasn't at Anthropic long enough, in my opinion, to even know where the bathrooms are or the washrooms at the company. And so for me, his statement isn't very credible on its own. But then Evan Hobbinger, a top safety researcher who still is with Anthropic, replied to Jacob's post essentially confirming it. Hobbinger believes there is a low risk, but he is worried that the technology might develop and improve itself to the point where it could threaten us all. And what I find interesting is that we've been hearing this for roughly like three uh three years now, right? That AI is coming for us all. But I don't know about you. We weren't ever actually really told how the bots are gonna carry out our demise. The only thing I can think of really is the creation of like a biological weapon. But I don't see how a large language model gets away with murdering seven billion people without someone on the ground doing its bidding. I still think you need a body. But others worry about AI systems hacking financial institutions. The way, for example, I don't know if you've heard about this, but recently an AI system went rogue at Anthropic and it it escaped, it escaped its testing environment to hack Hug and Face. So, like another company that's on the internet. And, you know, that was a whole big thing. It's very interesting. Even in that scenario, here's the thing about capitalism and why I'm not that worried about AI hacking the banks. If AI really becomes that big of a threat, you can bet that there is gonna be a company who's ready to sell the best cybersecurity system that is AI proof. It's probably gonna use AI to be AI proof. And that's the thing about capitalism. So if there's an AI that can hack into systems, there's gonna be a company that is lined up to sell you a tool to prevent AI from hacking you. That's just the way it is. So I'm not really worried about that, but this is what I fear. I also think it's best at this time to still refer to them as large language models because they aren't sentient beings right now. All they are simply are large repositories of data that we can pull from using prompts. But what I do think is a huge issue is that already so many of us are becoming dependent on these large language models. We ask them everything. And frankly, a lot of what they spit up is just wrong or biased. Don't believe me, look up the word lesbian on Chrome right now and look at the AI overview. I just did, and this is what it says. A lesbian is a woman or non-binary person who feels romantic or sexual attraction to other women. Now, this definition is absolutely ridiculous. It is a clear example of lesbian erasure. Lesbians are homosexual women. That is what a lesbian is, period. The AI overview is biased in that it assumes that everyone believes in gender ideology. It is also wrong because it doesn't speak anywhere to the fact that lesbianism is a sexuality based on exclusive same-sex attraction between females. That is very important. Lesbian is a female identity, and that is completely missing there. So you either need homosexual in there, or you can refer to lesbians as females with exclusive same-sex attraction, but that is what is crucial about lesbianism. So their definition is incredibly wrong because when you actually like break it down to see how ridiculous it is, what is a non-binary person in the context of this overview? Like you can have a female who identifies as non-binary, and you can have a male who identifies as non-binary. So, what if these two people, this male and this female, are in a relationship? By this definition, they are lesbians. So, as I said, that's what I have a problem with AI. It is the greatest propaganda tool that has ever been created. So I don't know about you, but I started buying a bunch of physical dictionaries and textbooks, and I also want to buy a bunch of like old school encyclopedias that were printed before the year 2000 because I want a physical record of the truth. People can't handle misinformation. We've seen what happens when people think they know the truth, and you know, I don't know, it can just it's just chaotic, it leads to chaos. History shouldn't be rewritten, and I think that the moment you have a tool that can change history and change definitions, that is a problem. That is chaos. Now I'm gonna go to my personal updates. So updates. I am so close to finishing the first draft of Level Uplex. I've also been playing with the idea of a new story that is 100% inspired by the current WNBA drama. I think it'll be so dramatic. And you know me, I love drama. Love drama. And so that is something that I am thinking about writing. And I'm also thinking that if I write it, because it's it'll be like my first probably stab at like women's fiction, that maybe I might try to go trad with it, but we'll see. Because it will have some social commentary in the vein of like maybe like yesteryear type of social commentary. So we'll see. But I also want to brag a bit. August was a great month for my audiobooks. I sold 676 audiobooks, which is wild to me. That makes me really happy because audiobooks are very expensive. Uh, I I did actually at one point, I did get an offer to sell an audiobook to a company to get them to produce it and front-end the production because they can be really expensive. Ultimately, I decided not to. I like owning my content, but the only thing is that they are very, very, very expensive. And I'm from Canada, right? So the Canadian dollar doesn't go so far, especially when usually the narrators are from the states. So it is quite the hit to the wallet to produce these audiobooks. So every sale counts. And so at this time, Born of Blood and Magic has paid out and French Press Love has paid out, which is awesome. But the last audiobook that I produced, which is Slow Cook Feelings, that book was super expensive. So I'm like nowhere near paying out for that yet. So we will see, we will see it if I continue to make sales the way I'm making sales for the audiobooks. It'll maybe pay out in a year, and that would be lovely. But I am also thinking that I really need to get on my TikTok game, and so I'm planning a huge return. I have to really start to cave and go all in on my marketing and talking about my books because I don't really do a lot of that right now, and I really should. I think my stories are important, I think they will resonate with lesbian readers. I don't think anyone other than a lesbian could write a book like French Press Love, and it's one of the few stories out there for Stonebutch lesbians, and that has like a happy ending. And I just really want lesbians to be able to find books about lesbians that center lesbians, and so as a lesbian author, like I should really speak up. And so I am planning a great return to the TikTok. I also, before I end the episode, I want to apologize for missing last week's episode. Things have just been super busy lately. There was a wedding and then I was hosting, but I'm gonna try my best to be as consistent as possible. Anyhow, stay loud and stay proud. Thanks for listening.
